Chapter 11: Slide 5 of 8

How to use the TX Invaders mobile application

Reporting an Observation

If you find an invasive species and wish to report the location, you will follow these steps to create an observation.

1. Standing at the location of the invasive species, tap its name on the Report a Plant screen. This will open the Observation screen for the species with species name, date, and GPS location (not shown) pre-populated.

Note: You may manually select your GPS location by pressing the map icon and by dragging the location pin on the map.

2. Tap the photo icon to take a picture of the invasive species. A preview of the image will then be displayed. If you are satisfied with the quality, tap the Use button. If you are dissatisfied with the image quality, tap the retake button and start over.

Note: The image taking skills you learned in Chapter 7 still apply. As an example, remember to use landscape orientation and that clear, close-up images help with species validation.
