Where it's from & how it got here

The natural range of the emerald ash borer is eastern Russia, northern China, Japan, and Korea.

It is believed that the EABs arrived as larvae, pupae, and/or as adults in solid wood cargo carried in ships or airplanes. Before June of 2002, it had never been found in North America.
