Abstract Title: HOW TO PLANT RIGHT: LESSONS LEARNED FROM OVER A DECADE OF WORK TO STOP THE SALE OF INVASIVE PLANTS THROUGH A COLLABORATIVE, VOLUNTARY, SCIENCE-BASED APPROACH. Stephanie Falzone, PlantRight, San Francisco, CA.

Abstract Text: Since 2005, PlantRight, a project of the nonprofit Sustainable Conservation, has been working with leaders from California’s nursery and landscape industries, conservation groups, academia, and government agencies to find common ground and cost-effective solutions to the problem of horticultural invasive plants. Lessons learned from this program can inform efforts to create similar programs, including questions to ask when starting a program like PlantRight.
